ALL. OF. THESE. THINGS.
YOU. ARE. ALL. AMAZING.
NEVER. LIMIT. YOURSELF.
This is all of the true. I need, like, a daily reminder of how true this is.
Pumps me up enough for my second year. Everyone, read this! Be inspired! Never give up! Practice and make work!
legit
I really need to listen to this advice.
hey here’s a bunch of really positive stuff about artistic ability and progress that i couldnt agree more with if i tried
Hey guys! Sorry its been so inactive around here. I’m slowly but surely getting finished with my finals.
Anyway, I found this and thought I had to share. The way body language can tell how a person is really feeling is something that I consider very interesting. I think it would be a great way to show, in a subtle way, how a character is really feeing.
Hope its useful! And good luck with finals! Hopefully, this place will be a bit more active once summer kicks in.
THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME
omg yes
Got some spare time? Make a comic!
Download the sample printable comic right here!
Reasons for doing this?
1: My followers can finally have a printed comic by me.
2: It seemed like a fun activity to do, specially with young kids.
3: It might be cool if interweb folks shared tiny little mini comics with each other. And a whole bunch of people can print each other’s comics and maybe we could collect ones by other artists. So… ya know. Why not?
ahhh cute
I find that, when writing bios, it’s really helpful to look at a list or a chart like the one above. Picking two or three traits from each chart and building a character based around them will give you a really interesting bio, because they will serve as a reminder that characters need depth and dimension.
Independent and clever.
VS.
Independent, clever, pretentious, and stubborn.
The first combination doesn’t come with any flaws, whereas the second will provide a more dynamic character.
Tutorial: Hands while kissing - by Auroracarina-Chan on DeviantArt
Since the tutorial is marked as “mature”, you cannot use the share-function to post it all on tumblr (srsly, I understand why ppl don’t wanna mark their work as mature… it limit your work to be seen a bit too much in some cases).
The reason why this tutorial is marked as mature is… I THINK it’s because you see some nipples, but it’s a ridiculous reason to make it unable to post on tumblr (dA has a share function where you can post art from dA with proper source and everything.)
Anyway, I took some screenshots from the tutorial, so you guys can see it without having to be a member on dA.
And here’s a screenshot that couldn’t get into the photoset:
Alright, so, hi there, people of the Internet who may/may not find this blog. What’s going on? Doing well? Awesome.
So, yeah, I’m a dude who spends far too much time online and not nearly enough time… being a human being, I guess would be the way to phrase it. So, basically, the purpose of this blog is going to be for me to reblog cool things I find that I want to try to do / become better at / learn to do. I’m not entirely what that will consist of right now, since I’m essentially using this as an excuse to take a break from working on some research, but yeah. As the name of the blog suggests, it’s merely something for me to become better at… being, I suppose.
As is, I’m currently a horribly out of shape, kind of overweight weight kid who relies way too much on luck and the kindness of others when it comes to life. I don’t really want to push myself to the absolute limits of humanity or anything, I just want to become a better, well-rounded person.
So, this will essentially start off with me working on narrowing down what it is exactly I want to start with, and where I stand on that sort of stuff. Currently, there’s quite a bit I want to get done with my life…
Brainstorming list:
- Become fit / lose weight. I’m kind of self-conscious about my weight, to the point that I don’t really even want to go to a public pool or anything. I’d like to slim down at least a little bit, and become more athletic. Be able to run for extended periods of time without winding myself and actually doing push-ups and stuff. It sounds bad, because it is. I’m not particularly fat, but I’ve got pretty much no strength.
- Learn to cook. Alright, this one has been a thorn in my side for too long. I really want to learn to cook meals, for a good many reasons. One, it just feels like one of those skills a person should have. Two, I really need to eat healthier. Three… Cooking just seems cool. Like, being able to turn raw ingredients into a meal? Awesome.
- Learn to draw. I’ve always enjoyed drawing, but my complete lack of skill and styles of learning (I have way too many ‘How to Draw Manga’ books back home) lead me down the road to quitting. I’d like to at least become a good enough artist to get my own style. Is that the way I should phrase it?
- Become a better writer. I’m passable right now (mostly at technical), but I kind of love RPGs and stuff, and I’d really love to get better at narrative structure and plot development and such because I feel like it would just make things better. I’m not sure if you can tell from this post, but I’m kind of all over the place.
There’s no doubt a lot more, but I kind of need to get this show on the road so I can head off and get back to work. This post is just kind of a reminder and starter so that I have something top show for it later.
So, yeah, if I’ve shown this blog to you, or you somehow stumble upon it later, I suppose I’ll ask the following of you:
- If you have a website or a book or some tips or tricks relating to something I’m trying to do, send me a message. I’d love to hear them. I love getting help, since education is a group process anyway.
- If you have any ideas for things that I should try to learn how to do, pitch them to me. I can’t promise I’ll love the idea, but becoming a better person is going to be filled with things I won’t necessarily enjoy, so I’ll just have to deal with it. That being said, certain things will have to wait until I can work up time/money/nerve, and there will probably just be a few things I’ll always say no to on principle.
- If you have any encouragement… Hey, I’d love to hear it.
Blargh OK need to get back to work. I guess my next step for this weekend will be coming up with a better list of things I’d like to do / become.
Thanks for your time, guys.
